The Rabin Center

Tel Aviv
Developer: The Rabin Peace Center
12,000 square meters

The Yitzhak Rabin Center was constructed above The Bunker building, which is also known as Reading C. The building has a security classification and is intended for use in times of emergency. The façade of the bunker was exposed and serves as part of the frontage of the Rabin Center. The soaring, white roofs on both sides of the Center serve as its unique visual signature. Each roof weighs approximately 20 tons.

The roofs look like wings and give an architectural message to the building, the significance of which is to impart meaning to the image of the late Prime Minister, Yitzhak Rabin, a man for security (the Bunker) and yet a man of far-reaching vision (the wings).
