Selective Electrodialysis for Nitrate Removal – Nes Ziona, Israel

Challenge:  Reduce nitrate levels of local well water to below regulation 70 ppm
Goals:  Decrease reliance on costly external water sources; increase amount of supply water complying with regulation for nitrates
Results:  Nitrate levels for product water reduced to far below regulation; enables water to be mixed with other sources for additional supply water that meets regulation at no extra cost

Selective Electrodialysis for Nitrate Removal – Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel

Challenge:  Use most cost-effective technology to reduce nitrate levels in wells on Institute grounds to below regulation 70 ppm
Goals:  Decrease reliance on national water carrier; increase amount of supply water complying with regulation for nitrates
Results:  Nitrate levels dramatically reduced; other source water is blended with treated water so that more supply meets regulation at no additional expense

Activated Carbon (AC) for ETDB and TCEY Removal – Ramat HaSharon, Israel

Challenge:  Restore use of three wells supplying Ramat HaSharon with more than 3.5 million m³ (925 million gal) annually, shut down due to high levels of ETDB and TCEY
Goal: Avoid lengthy and costly construction project connecting city to national water carrier
Result: AC Mobile Filter Units brought in to reduce ETDB and TCEY levels in wells; local wells resume supply within several months
