Operating Facilities for Power Generation

Shikun & Binui Renewable Energy, through its subsidiary Etgal Energy (80%), is the first independent power producer in Israel and the owner of a power station for electricity production. Etgal Energy operates the Etgal Ashdod power station with production capacity of 26MW, which acts as a “peaker,” available to the grid during peak consumption. Etgal sells exclusively to the Israel Electric Corp.

 

Promoting Projects for Generating Power Using Natural Gas

Shikun & Binui Environment is working towards initiating several projects for construction of power stations based on natural gas, which is the most environmentally-friendly means of power generation, amongst the fossil fuels based means of energy generation (such as coal and mazut).

  

• The expansion of Etgal Ashdod, developed by "Etgal Energy" (80%), a power station construction project with a scope of 100 megawatts with an open cycle technology based on natural gas. The project will be constructed on unoccupied land within the area of the existing power station in Etgal Ashdod.
