Summary of 2010
In 2010, Shikun & Binui set itself the goal of promoting environmental education, particularly among youth, by adopting community projects with significant ongoing impact.
The activities include promoting the subject of sustainability in schools, and encouraging employees to be actively involved in voluntary environmental activities.
The Group’s community relations activities in 2010 included:

Study and enrichment on environmental topics in ORT schools, including the creation of green technological projects with pupils.

Adopting a school in the central region, which included building two classrooms and a variety of renovation work to benefit the pupils.

Activity in the Young Business Leadership project – financing and assisting annual workshops for youngsters in outlying areas.

Assisting, advising and financing activities in a special-needs school in Givatayim, including renovations of the nature corner and financing environmental studies at the Ramat Gan city farm.

Helping prepare plans to renovate the gym in a school for at-risk youth in southern Tel Aviv, based on the principles of green building.

Good Deeds Day – voluntary participation by employees in creative workshops in schools in disadvantaged areas.

Providing university scholarships for study and research in environmental subjects.

Supporting an IDF unit as part of the Adopt a Fighter project.

Financing training and scholarships for youths from the Krembo Wings youth movement.

A whole range of activities with more than 30 different institutions and nonprofit associations.
During 2010, about a quarter of the company’s employees in Israel (some 250 people) took part in community relations activities, giving more than 1,000 hours of their time. In addition, the company gave donations amounting to about NIS 2.4 million.
The company has been expanding its activity and its employees’ contributions to the community during 2011.
